General Descriptiin
The name of the islet comes from a channel that fills during high tide with sharks of the Tintorera type ( Triaenodon obesus ). It has an area of 12.4 hectares (0.12 square kilometers), is located 68.8 kilometers from the center of the archipelago, and has a coastline of 2.64 kilometers.
Located 10 minutes by boat from Puerto Villamil is the Galapagos Tintoreras Islet, it takes its name from the reef shark that surrounds the islet and the channel that is formed between two vertical rock walls, this peaceful waters of this place is the perfect place where this species of sharks come to take a rest.
